Local authorities

We are currently involved with various councils including North Yorkshire County Council, Westminster City Council, Essex County Council, Surrey County Council, Bracknell Forest Borough Council, Wokingham District Council, Gloucester City Council, Borough of Poole, London Borough of Waltham Forest and the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

Recognising the pressures on the public purse we are constantly searching for ways to improve our services whilst supporting our clients in delivering efficiencies. By introducing Pathfinder, our Business Management System, as a means to capture the ‘knowledge' of our employees and promoting the ‘best way we know how' we have established a solid platform for consistency and also a way to reducing our clients costs by avoiding ‘re-inventing the wheel'. This is driving continuous improvement, quality, innovations and the development of ‘best in class' processes taking input from all parts of the business and other industries.

Strategic Roads

We also work with the Highways Agency in Area 4 (Kent, Surrey and Sussex), Area 2 (Somerset, Avon, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire) and Transport Scotland (North West Unit).

Highways Agency

Working on the strategic road network requires a specific skill set. Focusing on the safety of our workers and the road users, we develop our staff to provide rapid and effective response for reducing congestion and improving journey time reliability. By placing the customer at the heart of everything we do we are delivering an increasingly high level of satisfaction.

Transport Scotland

Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Services' contract to manage and maintain Scotland's North West trunk roads and motorways presents some unique challenges, due to the geography and extreme weather conditions.

Our teams provide a one stop shop management and maintenance service to Transport Scotland, making a real difference to people and businesses relaying on major arteries such as the A9 from Perth to Thurso and the A82 from Loch Lomond to Inverness.

Balfour Beatty

We provide management and maintenance services to the Balfour Beatty group roads investment portfolio including the A30/A35, A50, A1M1, M77 and are currently preferred bidder on the Carlisle Northern Development Route (CNDR).

Balfour Beatty Capital is also a major investor in UK street lighting Private Finance Initiative (PFI) opportunities, for which Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Services delivers the capital investment programme and maintenance for three concessions including Sunderland, South Tyneside and Derby.
