Highways Engineer

Almondsbury, Bristol

Reporting to the Highways Design Team Leader the Highways Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of large and complex highways schemes. You will prepare designs, reports, specifications and other deliverables, as well as producing reports on a bi-weekly basis on performance against budget and programme. Other duties include:

• Identify schemes that need to be considered in the Four Year Programme
• Understand the condition of the highways asset and identify areas where improvement can be made
• To aid the Bid Managers in the CVM process
• To monitor the designs produced to ensure they meet the design briefs set by the Delivery Teams

Candidates should have an excellent knowledge of the Highways Agency procedures necessary to deliver a highways project. You will have detailed knowledge of design codes and will have experience in the design and construction of highways schemes. A Chartered or near Chartered Civil Engineer (or equivalent) you will ideally have experience within a similar area maintenance role.
