Highways Maintenance Engineer [A0608]

Reporting to the Small Woks Portfolio Manager the Highways Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for taking a lead role in providing cost effective solutions to maintain or improve the roads asset to agreed standards. You will manage a team on a technical basis, giving advice on suitable design techniques and providing new ideas where possible. Other duties will include:
• Delivering maintenance schemes to programme and within budget
whilst identifying new schemes for future projects.
• Assist in the VM process.
• Managing both internal and external resources, ensuring the
appropriate allocation of tasks to relevant team members.
• Ensuring team members have adequate training and
development.
• Agree briefs, programmes and budgets with the Portfolio
Manager.
• Ensure quality system is actively applied to all schemes.
Suitable candidates will have experience of leading small design teams whilst coordinating interfaces with other disciplines. You will have a detailed knowledge of design codes relevant to this sector, as well as an understanding of environmental requirements for highways schemes. Experience in the design and construction of highways schemes is essential.
